I’ve also seen it written The Tree of Good & Evil, said the Professor, and the Tree of Everything. I suppose they all mean about the same thing. I asked a young friend which apple she’d take a bite out of. She thought a bit then said “the red one.” Nope, I said. It was a trick question. The Rule said Everything Else is available. The Professor wondered, to himself, if that meant Knowledge was a rather dangerous commodity (though less so than ignorance).
Anyway, he said to his friend, there’s lots of other fruit.
