“That’s pleasant enough,” offered Loft as he glanced from the studio doorway. “High praise indeed,” muttered the Professor. “In fact, these two lovely specimens from the back garden are reported to be the last two euonymus alatus t.fokalis known to exist. Not a tree, nor a shrub. Actually a bush. It turns fire red in fall. Some call the variety Burning Bush. (Really; look it up). I suspect either the hot peppers at supper, or a feather I coughed up during the night (my favorite down pillow leaks) had something to do with the initial inspiration.”
From the upstairs library balcony Loft called, “I’d like to downgrade my first impression.”
